I spent one of my afternoons in Skåne doing some fangirlish sleuthing and trying to find the location where they shot the scene in Before the Frost where Linda met Stefan for the first time. Finally I tracked it down to this junction at Kadesjö. You can see the scenery behind Linda and Svartman is the same as in my photo, and the countryside behind Stefan’s car is the view down towards Rydsgård and Karlsborg. That’s also the same sign pointing to Rögla, and the sign pointing the other way is for Kadesjö itself. The photo at the bottom is where Stefan pulled over so Linda could give him a flea in his ear for speeding :-D
Yes I know, I’m an anorak. But it’s fascinating to see places in real life that I know so well from my TV screen!
isalabelle09 replied to your photo“From Vittnet:the photo on Kurt’s desk. (So many feels)”: It hurts. A lot. Although I have to say, I adore how they handled this in the series. A while ago, I came across an article where they were on set in the middle of filming S2 and Krister said sth along the lines of them dealing with Johanna’s death in the series in a way that everyone knows about it, yet nobody ever mentions it, as there was no reson to dig even deeper into the grief. And I think that fits perefectly into the Wallander-verse and matches the general tone of the series (I mean, yes, each season has a different, unique feel to it, but I guess there’s kind of an underlying bittersweet sadness that’s like a common theme?)And to open and end S2 with subtle emphasis on this picture is super sad, but also somewhat poetic, I guess
There’s a scene at the end of Vittnet/The Witness where Kurt suddenly decides to take time off work so that he can take the little orphan Natalia to Stockholm, and he seems so happy about it. Given that his friend/love interest/moral support Katarina has just gone back to Stockholm and he misses her, this is probably not all that surprising. However, he just seems so very overjoyed about the prospect, and we also have a shot of the photo of Linda as well, so what if it’s not just Katarina he’s going to see? What if, for the entire duration of series 2, Linda has been in Stockholm, perhaps not on speaking terms with her father, but he’s decided now that he’s going to go see her and reconcile with her.
Just an idea. There are just so many feels in that episode <3
Drama series based on on Maria Lang’s crime novels set in the beauty of Bergslagen
W00t — more Ola Rapace on my TV screen :)
Glad the BBC has decided to pick this up, it looks like it’s going to be interesting. And I’m always interested in OIa :-D
Spotted during one of the courtroom scenes in Vittnet: one of the random people in the background is none other than local Ystad celebrity Ingvar Persson, owner of Fritidsbaren. I thought there was something familiar about his face, but it took me a moment or two realise who it actually is!
